Hey, I'm running the latest stable Mint Distribution of Linux Ubuntu and I'm quite new to Linux as a whole. I have WINE, and a few other odds and ends that I have read from Google searches that should have helped, but in the end, I want to be able to run my PC version of "Worms World Party" (Team17) on Ubuntu. I don't care if I can play online or not, I just want the thing to work.

I successfully installed the game from the CD but every time I go to launch, either the screen resolution changes and it zooms on the desktop but I can HEAR the game, OR the screen will go black and nothing happens.

does anybody know how to successfully run the game? Here's some specs on my machine (sorry if I'm missing anything you need):

Sony VAIO VPCEB33FM Lap top
Intel i3 Processor
3.6 gb of RAM (according to "Details" menu)
32 Bit OS
IntelĀ® Ironlake Mobile x86/MMX/SSE2 graphics (integrated)

Thanks a lot guys! I know I'm not the only one out there who has had trouble with it. some say "Just the the new game" but my friends and I like the classics like a lot of other people out there

Um, you may have a NetBook: those three things are frequently all these are designed for. They've susceptible image playing cards (integrated), slow processors (quite often 1.66GHz), and low RAM (1-2GB mainly). It's no longer Linux that is keeping you from doing fantastic stuff - it is your NetBook. There are plenty of on line communities that are established on Linux. Individuals could be blissful to support provide you with some pointers and show you where to seek out freeware. With slightly little bit of UNIX potential, you are able to do much more with Linux than that you would be able to with home windows! Granted, there are a lot of windows-simplest application available in the market and there isn't a method round that. But a NetBook is a excellent platform to get you began on Linux. Poke around the web for Linux organizations, blogs, and postings and i'll guess you come to find it irresistible's "tweakability!" when you rather hate Linux, that you can normally prefer up an o.E.M replica of XP professional for around $120 and set up that in your NetBook alternatively. However i would not are trying Vista on a NetBook - Vista is too much of a beast for most NetBooks.

You have a pretty decent hardware. I would suggest getting a better operating system like Windows 8. This is my serious suggestion with no intention to troll or making fun of anything. I just think it is not worth the time to debug these issues.

Thanks
