go to this website: http://mf2fm.com/rv/dhtmltinkerbell.php

copy and paste the code they give you.

go to your theme code in customize, and find where it says then paste the code under it.

to make it purple you'll have to find this in the cursor trail code: var colour="random"; // in addition to "random" can be set to any valid colour eg "#f0f" or "red"

replace random with #A020F0 and delete the words after that. so it should look like this: var colour="#A020F0";

hit save and close.

done!
