Question:
Good writing program?
2013-06-10 08:14:12 UTC
I am at this site, and i have an idea for what we can do on it. i have this "model" for the idea that shows of what i mean. But, the only program i have is paint. I don't want to show them it yet because i don't want to look like a unserious child. I want to be taken serious with this and i just feel that if i used paint it wouldn't be taken as serious. Is there any free programs out there can i can use to write and just draw some lines (straight lines that's all i need) that looks more pro than paint?

PS: sorry if you can't understand me, english isn't my native language. I don't even know if "unserious" is a word x) yahoo says it isn't but google translate says it is lol.

There is nothing wrong with paint. People look at your diagrams, as long as they look good they don't care what program you used to create them. That being said, most people use Photoshop for prototyping ideas. You can also use Gimp which is free and extremely powerful. Then there is Paint.Net which is sort of like Paint of steroids (much easier for beginners than either photoshop or Gimp and it's completely free).

For diagramming architecture, communications, website etc the most popular program is Microsoft Visio. (not free, but well worth the cost) You can also make out great mindmap diagrams and org charts using Xmind and freemind. Xmind, makes very nice color mindmaps.

There is an open source tool for diagramming called Dia but it is no where near as nice as Visio, I'd stay away from it if you want professional looking diagrams.

There are also great tools available for diagramming online, My favorite is http://www.cacoo.com

There is another one called Gliffy that people like.

Hope this helps!

Hi There,

Two other programs ( both free downloads ) are Paint Net and MT Paint should work for what you are doing.

Here are the links: http://www.getpaint.net/ and http://mtpaint.sourceforge.net/

MT Paint might be the best one for you to try.

HOpe this helps,

If you want a free image editing software you can use GIMP, or if you want a flowchart program you can use SmartDraw
