I don't want to have to keep manually updating my website files, but i'm unsure to make the files update when an edit is made.

Hi There,
I have been maintaining three websites for a few years and I use Core FTP LE (free edition) and coffeecup free html editor.
After making changes to a web page using Coffeecup I test it in three browsers (for compatibility) then I upload the changed file from my computer to the website with Core FTP.
I do this manually and would not want the changed files to automatically upload until they are checked out. Core FTP has a "Pro" version you can buy that can sync files automatically if you are interested.
Coffeecup html editor allows you to download a file from your page, modify it and then test using one or more browsers to make sure they are compatible.
Coffeecup also has a built-in FTP client to upload when you are finished.
I have not used the Coffeecup FTP client ( I use Core FTP) but it should work fine.
The above is my opion abd works for me,
Al

You have used a dozen FTP clients over the years, but only a few of them work with automatic updates when saving.
For example, The FireFTP addon for FireFox is great. You double click a file.. it opens in notepad++.. and when you click save, it immediately uploads the new version of the file to the server. Further changes can be made and each time you hit save, it uploads instantly.
You trying to find a standalone (preferably portable) FTP client that does this without prompting.
FlashFXP waits for your to hit ok and can desync if your hit cancel then reopen.
Filezilla prompts after save is detected but no way to just be automatic.
Coreftp prompts after file is closed
You haven't found one yet that supports an automatic session or maybe you just not finding it
Any advice?
