Hi, usually you'd need to find books that sound something like "Excel VBA", or "Excel Visual Basic for Applications" - because VBA is the only programming language available directly within Excel. If you're a beginner, make sure that the book you buy has lots of tutorials and practical examples.
The book I'm using is called "Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications" (by Diane Zak). It's thick and it explains how to use VBA programming within Excel (as well as within Word and Access). I'd recommend this book or any other Excel VBA book.

I use and love the Excel 200X Bible by John Walkenbach. Very well written with lots of examples and a CD with most of the examples on it. There are several versions of this book, that's why I put "X" in the title. I currently have the Excel 2000 Bible, but I've seen the 2003 and 2007 Bibles in stores.
