Which is better ASP.NET or PHP?

I'm developing a website and i am confused which language i should choose to make it successful, should I use PHP or ASP.NET? Please support your opinion with details..

The main advantage PHP has is cost of deployment.



I develop applications using ASP.NET. I have tried PHP, but I feel that ASP.NET is much faster in terms of development time (taking into consideration you know ASP.NET to a large extent).



You should also take into consideration the cost of the developer tools.



To me, the advantage of .NET is that you can build reusable libraries of code which can be used not only in web applications, but also in other applications whether windows, windows services, web services and so on...

That is PHP.



PHP can be installed on any server. ASP.NET, I believe, is strictly a windows application. But Im not sure about that.

You know asp is so heavy for web but is complete for objects.

PHP is an scripting language which has complete objects for web.It's so easy and light for web because it is script.

I prefer PHP for web for it's speed.
