I need to add a remote server to my website info. I just don't have a clue what remote server means. I'm using Dreamweaver CS4 and when I try adding the remote info, it gives me theses options; FTP, Local/Network, WebDAV, RDS, and Microsoft Visual SourceSafe. I don't know which to click on or what any of them mean. Could somebody please explain this to me? All I know is I need to add a remote server.

Do you have hosting? Because a remote server just means you need to connect to your hosting provider. Click on FTP and it will ask you to enter the FTP and username/password. Your hosting provider will have provided this.

If you don't have hosting you need to buy it, assuming you actually want your website to appear online. Go to GoDaddy.com or Yahoo Small Business, or Dreamhost, or whatever. There are lots of online hosting options available. Just search for 'em.

Say your host is Yahoo Small business enterprise and that they value you a value to save your internet content. once you submit your pages on your Host (distant internet server); you're particularly ftp-n them to the internet server by your Dreamweaver, seen Studio, or in spite of progression utility you're making use of to create the pages.
