ANY paid hosting allows you do do all that and even provides templates or you can use your own. There are more advantages with paid hosting as many already have a free gallery ready to be installed for you. You will need php and database for a gallery.

The editor provided is usually set to a Visual Editor by default. Best to install a Visual Editor on your computer, set up a named folder and MIRROR the EXACT directory structure as you will use online on your hard drive. Then edit, view files and upload via FTP when ready. Not only will you have a backup of your online site, but it will be so much easier to do all the editing locally.

I want to make a website... I dont want it to be like mybusiness.webs.com.... I want it to be mybusiness.com...

--You need a domain name. These typically run $15/yr but some hosting companies will offer them free if you host with them

I dont know any of those codes or whatever, I need a website that will give me a template, but I want it to be customizable so I can do whatever I want with it. I dont want to have to use a premade template, but I want to be able to just click and type, and drag and drop, that kind of thing.

--You probably won't find drag and drop without some kind of offline program that lets you design your own webpage (thinking Adobe something or other here). If anyone knows of one please prove me wrong. Premade templates abound, and most hosting companies will have some sort of collection of templates. If not, there are sites like FreeCSSTemplates.org that offer them.

I also need to be able tp upload a lot of pictures. I want a homepage, a gallery page and a contact page...

Does anyone know of any websites where I can do this?

Thanks :)

--Lots of pictures means either you need lots of bandwidth or compressed images. I'm guessing you want the former. I use hosting24.com which offers unlimited storage & bandwidth for $4.84 a month since I paid for one year in advance (use coupon code SAVE24NOW for that price, otherwise it's $2 more per month. The $4.84 you see posted is if you buy 3 years in advance which I'm guessing you don't want to do). Hosting24 also has the "free domains for life" thing I alluded to but I'm not taking advantage of that since I purchased my domain name before I switched to them.

As far as setting up a gallery, my friend has used flash to set up his site. My website uses Drupal (easily installed via cPanel on most hosts), which also allows you to create sites like that and doesn't require you to know a lot of HTML, PHP, or CSS unless you want to. The "Using Drupal" book by Angela Byron, et al actually has a chapter (Chapter 7) on making a Photo Gallery. Google books has it: http://books.google.com/books?id=LVz8q2qYQNUC&pg=PR1&dq=using+drupal#v=onepage&q=&f=false

If you want to have your real website address (domain name), you must pay for it. Free services just offer sub-domains like yourbusiness.webs.com which doesn't look professional.

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. A domain name is a name you want to call your website (ex: www.yahoo.com). To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.

If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.

As an experienced webmaster I recommend BH web hosting which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.

You can reach reviews about this web hosting provider and its latest DISCOUNT COUPONS at:

They also offer "Free Site Builder" that helps you build your web pages without difficulty if you are not skilled in using any website creating program. (WYSIWYG: What You See Is What You Get) You can use this service optionally. You can also create the pages offline with your favorite program (DreamWeaver, FrontPage, etc.), and then upload them to your web host. This is another easy way to get your website online.

* This service was awarded “The Best Web Host OF The Year”.

* If you sign up for this service you will have $75 credits to advertise your website with the google & yahoo search engines for free!

Yahoo offers a good start up website. Not too many options when it comes to customizing but if you buy Dreamweaver you can practically do anything and then get it published through yahoo. I say yahoo because they have the paypal stuff set up for you already and its simple.

You're pretty much going to have to pay for that, but a good host is http://www.godaddy.com I believe they have templates, but don't quote me on this.

Make a website from one of these, they all have their own templates for you to use.
