How to make GIF image?

Question

I am trying to make a GIF image of a scene I have and I don't know of any programs to make this happen. Also the scene is from a longer version video so I need a program to extract the image. Both programs need to be free and not any kind of trial. The video in question is from Youtube, if that is something you need to know. Thanks in advance.

A .gif dossier stands for Graphics Interchange Format. It is a sequence of jpegs mixed that make a "film" type of impact. If you mix photos in combination they are going to transfer. Not certain how else to give an explanation for it. Therefore you cannot convert jpegs to .gifs. I have no answers for extracting the video however Gimp 2 is great for making GIF files. http://www.gimp.org It's free and open source.

You must have Adobe Photoshop CS 12.0. That easy to make Gif image.

You need a specific program to make one, i'm unsure of the name though.
