what is serial number of a computer?

i was trying to install nero on my PC but it ask for the serial number of the PC .what is it and where can i find it??

every pc has a unique identification code which is generated by the pc itself according to the hardware processor and the operating system installed on it.

JUst go to ur desktop right click on my computer and then click on properties there and then on the general tab u will see a code of numeric and alphanumeric characters and also the normal description of the things inside ur pc....



the mixed up numeric and alpha numeric code is the serial number of the pc ...just copy and paste it where do u want to .....as u will have to do it in nero...and u will be able to install nero....

Check your CD Cover to see serial number. Dont use fake ones. Beecose when you are accessing the net, the nero company will blacklist your cd key. Then you will lose the full function from nero software. So use original key found on your cd.

oh!!!!!!! its a software installer problem ask ur computer engineer and hu one can buy this computer ask him the serail number. to activate ur computer shortly follow the instructions . click start and select Run and put oobe/msoobe /a and enter it and u can enter the serial number ..........
