I have Samsung Galaxy Gio. Whenever I transfer files to it from my computer, f.e. songs, pictures, the gallery and the music player cannot find them. I've tried sd rescan apps but they don't fix my problem.

The transferred files are in the folders I put them but they can't be found in the gallery or the music player, and the only way to have them there is by downloading them directly from the internet.

What could be the problem? And what should I do?

Install some file manager (like total commander) on your android phone and find those files for yourself.

Possible explanation is - idk what software are u using to view your images or to play your songs in your PC, but if its some obscurity, it can somehow mess up your files format and because of that, android device is unable to see them correctly.

Maybe you are not saving them to your SD card...

Download file manager - that should scan everything. I use FrostWire for that, but it's not a dedicated app - it's more like a file download app with a media player and file browser in one. It generally finds everything and divides it into music, pictures, videos etc.

It's not always clear where e-mail attachments, text message files or files from the Web have been downloaded to on your Android phone. In this how-to, we'll show you where the files are and what app to use to find them.

When you download e-mail attachments or Web files, they get placed in the "download" folder. To get to them, launch the Files app.

Once the file manager opens, select "Phone files."

From the list of file folders, scroll down and select the "download" folder.

n the "download" folder, you will see all of the files you have downloaded from non-Android Market apps, to photos, to documents. Tap on each file to launch them or long press on them to Share, Delete, Rename, Copy, Move, or display more information.

Files downloaded via MMS (text messages) are located in the "Messaging" folder of the same directory list as the "download" folder. In addition, the Gallery app displays photos from all folders on your phone. Just launch your Gallery app and tap on Folders to see them.
