Question:
How do I access CentOS with RDP?

So I bought a CentOS VPS from 1&1 internet. I've really never used linux before so I dont know what I'm doing. :D Haha

So, my problem is, this VPS came with only SSH access, meaning I can access only a command line (No GUI) through PuTTY.

So after I install KDE:
yum groupinstall "X Window System" "KDE (K Desktop Environment)"

How do I access it through RDP or any other remote desktop software. Please posts either a specific guide or a video. Dont just tell me to install through then do , because I wont have any idea what you're talking about.

Thank you!

Installing kde, or any desktop, if it's possible, on a vps would take up space, use up ram and generally make your vps slow. And would serve little purpose. If you want a way of graphically configuring the thing then webmin would be a good start.

And you'd probably be better off learning how to do it on your own computer before spending money on server space. You can download and install centos on your own computer for free.

There are two ways to use VNC. The first way is to provide remote access to your normal desktop, the desktop you get when you sit down in-front of your computer and login. The second way, which we will be exploring, is to create a desktop that is separate from the physical display and only lives in memory.
