when I try to connect via ftp, It is asking for host directory. i dont know what to put there. I know the FTP Host, Login, password. but not host directory. could anyone help me???

Check your settings again. When you got your host, you should have received instructions on how to FTP.



Your host directory is whatever is the public directory on the webhost. You should be connecting there.



Also check to see where your website is located on your computer.

That's not to do with the host directory, it's probably because one of the details is wrong; probably the FTP host.



Make sure you haven't put http:// in front by accident.

It sounds like Dreamweaver can't find the FTP host name you put in. Please double-check that... it should probably be something like ftp.yourwebsite.com



The other issue - the host directory - changes based on your webhost, but is probably just youwebsite.com/



Post more specifics - what webhost are you using and I might be able to provide more specifics
