What is the best way to create a nice website that somebody else can update?

I have experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, but this is my first time doing web design. I am planning on creating a website for an organization using Dreamweaver, but I will not be able to keep it updated for them - with upcoming events, announcements, etc... So I was wondering what would be the best way to create a solid website that they can easily update themselves.

You can use Wordpress site, or your own site. Anyone can add a page, or update an existing page. They can also do it by just sending an email to the site.

Wordpress has two methods. The first is using their site (www.wordpress.com), so your address might be: http://yourpcguide.wordpress.com/

You can also have a full site as a blog. You will have to have a registered domain name. The software for this is located at www.wordpress.org

My site is a wordpress site. I use email to update important messages like viruses, specials, etc.

Dreamweaver is the best software for making a website if you give them some training they easily update their website. Make website through template when they make new pages they make through template and if they want to change or add some more content give them a copy of original files and instruct them when they do some changes or update first make a copy then edit or update.

Give them a proposal, contract with you monthly basis when they have any changes they send you through mail. I have 2 clients when they have any update I can do it at my home. I know its not easy for some companies because of their policies but may be they accept your proposal.

Give them a wiki, or design something like wet paint. You're going to need to know PHP or ASP and how to store data on a server.

for your needs l would suggest that you try Joomla, Wordpress or drupal first and move on from there. you will love it and people will enjoy editing.
