To make a website just follow this guide I made:

First, if you don't really want to write and you just want to make a site fast with free hosting try these sites:

1#Webs-- webs.com/ | Formally FreeWebs

Simply sign up, chose a domain(www.yoursitename.webs.com), choose a templet, then ad content, and upload, as easy as that! The hosting is free, but you can upgrade to get more features.

2#Weebly-- weebly.com/

Create a free website or blog in minutes by using a simple drag and drop interface. No ads. One of Time's 50 best websites of the year.

2#Blogger-- blogger.com/start

Great to start a blog, powered by google!

If you are willing to spend time learning (but want some help making it with a program) then check out these links:

1#KompoZer-- http://www.kompozer.net/

WYSIWYG HTML and CSS editor derived from Nvu. Binary downloads for Windows, Mac, and several variants of Linux. [Open Source]

By the way KompoZer is NVU's Unofficial bug-fix because NVU was forgotten, it has so many bugs and crash so much they just gave-up. So don't use NVU.

<--------------------------------Some Q and A-------------------------------->

Q:

What is a WYSIWYG editor?

A:

Well stands for What You See Is What You Get it makes the code for you, if you place a image here on the screen it will make the code to do that, there are limitation thought but it's still good.

Every Site need a domain(example www.yoursite.com , or www.somesite.net , etc)

Q:

What is a Domain?

A:

A Domain is the URL of you site ie, www.yoursite.com or www.yoursite.co.cc.

Also most hosting company's will give you a sub-domain, ie, www.yoursite.110mb.com or www.yoursite.webs.com

If you want a free domain try a .co.cc domain:

co.cc-- https://www.co.cc/

co.cc is a free domain, (example, www.yoursite.co.cc).

If you want a top level domain like .com, .net, .org etc. domain then you have to pay for those.

If you would like to buy a top level domain then check out

GoDaddy.com:

godaddy.com

To have your site on the web you need a server to host it, server space can cost from nothing at all to $500+ for dedicated servers.

Q: What is Web Hosting?

A: It's a server that's up all the time to keep your site up on the web

Q: What's Disk Space?

A: Disk space is the amount of data the hosting company let's you have on there server, go over and they will not let you put more data on there server.

Q: What's Bandwidth?

A: Bandwidth is the number of data your hosting company allows you to transfer monthly, If you go over your bandwidth thought most hosting company's will charge you for what you go over, but some do not.

Can you suggest an good Free Hosting Company?

110MB-- http://www.110mb.com/

110MB is a free web hosting company, it offers 5Gb of Disk Space and 300GB of bandwidth, way more then enough for a starting site, it also offers

You can make any website for free (aside from hosting costs) if you so wish. It will primarily depend on your ability and capacity, but a good place to start--if you're completely new and know nothing of HTML--is an excellent website called HTMLDog. You can learn all the standards-compliant XHTML you'll need to get you started over there.

If you want to go for a messier approach, grab a WYSIWYG HTML editor and use that. Amaya is one of the best free programs of this sort, but I do recommend the former approach.

http://www.w3.org/Amaya/

If you're looking to learn how to create more advanced, dynamic websites, you'll be looking into something like PHP. For this, I recommend the book "PHP 6 and MySQL 5" by Larry Ullman, as one of Peachpit Press' Visual Quickpro Guides. It's an excellent book, but you should definitely have a good foundation in (X)HTML first.

Failing that, I've completely missed what you were asking. Good luck.

Try Blink Web or Wix, their easy to manage free website (or blog) has cool features that include drag and drop capability, switch designs on the fly, youtube and google video, custom html, upload images, flikr photo gallery, visitor stats and more. You can also buy a new domain instantly, or host your existing domain for free and make it your own (www.yourown.com)

If your looking for something more advanced but still user friendly then try Easy Site Build, XSitePro, IntroWizard or Sitebuilder Designs, they have everything you need in building your own website: domain name registration or domain transfer, web hosting, web builder, site maintenance and email accounts. Everything is laid out in an easy to follow step by step instruction. Some of the features included enable you to add your own themes, videos, images or mp3 music making your site unique to you. Pricing is comparable and affordable too.

I hope that I was of some help and answered your question.

If you are new to web design and just want a simple WYSIWYG editor, then try Google Sites, Webs (formally Freewebs) or Weebly. I have used all of these and I would say that, overall, Weebly is the best. If you use one of these services, free (although limited) hosting is provided. And with Weebly and Google Sites, you can also buy your own domain and set up redirection.

Google Sites: http://sites.google.com

Webs: http://www.webs.com/

Weebly: http://www.weebly.com/

You could try GooglePages, I hear they are pretty good. You're probably going to want to go for a simple blog if you don't have much programming experience.

Blogger or Wordpress. You aren't going to get custom but its the easiest thing to do.
