ASP.net is a pretty broad topic. If you're just looking to learn standard ASP.Net with either C# or VB.Net, I'd recommend Beginning ASP.NET 4: in C# and VB. My personal recommendation would be to go the C# route if this is the path you take.

However, my overall recommendation would be to learn ASP.Net MVC 4. For that I'd recommend Pro ASP.NET MVC 4. MVC gives you a much cleaner and more modern coding style with the model view controller architecture and razor. Check it out here:

For ASP.NET, you'll need to know either Visual Basic or C# (C# will be closer to C++ than VB is) since those are the languages that used primarily in ASP.NET which is not a language, but rather a framework for making web applications (though it may come with some specialized syntax). Next, you'll have to choose from either ASP.NET Web Forms or ASP.NET MVC (strongly recommend MVC since that's the way forward).

C# resources:

ASP.NET MVC 4 resources:

The Tao Te Ching is the original Taoist book written by lao tzu, no other book will give you a better understanding. Taoism cannot be learned, only lived. It seems complicated to grasp at first because you think you have to use the mind to learn about it when really its just accepting it and living it... its very hard to explain in writing because the whole point of Tao is that it cannot be explained.
