If you want to become a programmer then you should take start from c / c++. If you wanna go more fast then you should learn Java Programming. After Learning Java you will be able to learn a lot of language by yourself. But you should get high command on this language. You can download the Java Book from given link..

Start with Python programming language as it is easy to learn, syntax are straight forward and help you to get yourself into coding.

Some of the good online resources for learning it-

http://docs.python.org/2/tutorial/

http://www.tutorialspoint.com/python/index.htm

http://thenewboston.org/tutorials.php

If you are serious about computer programming then after learning Python, you can move on to C++ programming language.

Try Java or Python, those two are usually the languages taught to first year computer science students at universities because of their syntactical elegance, capabilities, potential, as well as their versatility.

I agree - Python is the best starting language - it is relatively simple but very powerful. After learning python to a decent degree, HTML and Java are very easy as they are very similar.

Python. Really good starting language and fairly easy to learn but widely used.
