How long is a piece of string?
There are several very different models of programming languages, e.g., linear, iterated languages like C and Java, parallel, array-oriented languages like J and APL, pure OO languages like SmallTalk and Eiffel, etc. Learning each new model costs a lot of time. Once you have the model, learning new languages based on the same model is relatively much easier and quicker.
On average, if you have familiarity with the model in which a language is cast, you should expect two to three months to memorize the language-specific keywords and constructs, six to nine months to be able to use the language competently, and (maybe) forever to become truly gifted in the use of the language.

There is not any functional reply. The trouble (one in all them) is that C or, say, tcl are rather rapid to decide on up as languages, however it takes an distinctive quantity of code to do whatever spectacular. The Object Oriented Languages (C, C++, C#, Python ...) are frequently a lot more strong and will make fairly big methods with exceptional consumer interfaces, all from now not that so much code. Most programmers could continually use an Object Oriented Language for all however the easiest of methods. But the drawback is that there's fairly a enormous preliminary overhead of belongings you must recognize earlier than you'll be able to rather get going in any respect. And that stuff would possibly look beautiful summary if you have not performed any programming but.

Learning the different programming languages isn't very difficult and doesn't take a great deal of time. When I first started programming over 25 years ago, I could learn a language in just a matter of days and become comfortable with it in a few weeks. To be proficient, though, takes time.
