Question:
How to I build a website for an online private school?

I'd like to build a website that will involve an online school course. This will require the ability have people become members and give access to them only. Also business transactions through credit cards or paypal etc.

How and where do I start when it comes to building my first business website with these sort of features? I'm completely new to this so I'm not sure where to start. I realize it takes html, css etc. and hosting but if it will take a long while for an inexperienced user to learn about more advanced code would I be better off paying someone else to do it for me?

Or are their pre-build sites online with these sort of features that I could use for making it?

Without any experience, you chances of success in that venture are rather limited: you need a relatively complex, interactive site, with login, payment gateway, and a serious admin management.

Not that hard to build for a pro, but an impossible task even for someone with little experience.

As far as finding pre-built sites, you MAY find some, but you will have to adapt them to your needs and that is not, either, an easy task.

(I have done some school websites in the past).

You would be better off finding a freelancer (post your request at http://www.web2coders.com or rentacoder.com: you'll get an idea of prices, but expect around 1000$ at the least)

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. A domain name is a name you want to call your website (ex: www.yahoo.com). To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.

If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.

As an experienced webmaster I recommend BH web hosting which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.

You can reach reviews about this web hosting provider and its latest DISCOUNT COUPONS at:

They also offer "Free Site Builder" that helps you build your web pages without difficulty if you are not skilled in using any website creating program. (WYSIWYG: What You See Is What You Get) You can use this service optionally. You can also create the pages offline with your favorite program (DreamWeaver, FrontPage, etc.), and then upload them to your web host. This is another easy way to get your website online.

******IMPORTANT********

* This service was awarded “The Best Web Host OF The Year”.

* If you sign up for this service you will have $75 credits to advertise your website with the google & yahoo search engines for free!

* You Can Register A Free Domain or Use Your Existing Domains. They Support All Domain Names.

well if you are not at all experienced in building websites, I would suggest going with a domain supplier that gives you the ability to create your website using their online website building wizards.

One that might be easy for you is www.webs.com

These people can provide you with a .com domain for a reasonable cost, or you can have a free sub-domain which would look something like www.webs.com/yourwebsitename

You can either choose from pre-built website layouts, or customise it yourself.

Also, If you decide to learn a bit more about how to upload a website to your domain, you could use a program like "web page builder" to help you make a website and export them to files to be uploaded to your website domain.

But as I said... I would suggest firstly just going with the simple option, then learn a bit more to customise it further.

So head over to www.webs.com and get yourself started!

as mentioned above:

Without any experience

you chances of success in that venture are rather limited

I suggest you adopt CMS system

which can give you more power to achieve it

if you have no ideas about CMS

you may rent a virtual host

whch can build CMS system for you at first

just outsourcing may save you a lot of time and money
