What is the most desired, most needed and will be the most needed in the future of programming languages? I am becoming certified in .ASP, C# and HTML and currently am in SQL. What is the next biggest money maker and desired language to obtain? Thanks in advance.

My friend,

I would say XML and JSON are important to learn. Though JSON is actually a part of javascript, it's importance will continue to grow as the use of AJAX increases. Note that AJAX is also a part of javascript.

XML is very important as we've only begun to dig into it's use as a data format to transfer. It is easy to communicate between businesses. It is also very easy to transform between the format used by one company to the format used by another company. As such, I suggest learning XML and all languages surrounding XML as a top priority. Languages surrounding XML include XSLT, XSD, XPATH, XQuery.

Hope this helps.

I would say C(maybe ++) is the real money maker in gaming and 3D,

PHP or AJAX lead in the web world,

Java is bleeding to death (no offense)

Javascript great with HTML

Cocoa, Carbon and Objective-C are all winners on mac

VBStudio VC# are nice for beginners on PC

Applescript smashed VBScript in the scripting world

There are many more languages in this world, try 'em all!

Learn any Open Source languages. Examples would be Python. But the real dough is in networking... get a CCIE if you can and you'll be ruling forever.
