Hi, I'm heading off the college really soon and my intended major is Graphic Design. I still need to get a laptop for school. So I did some research and I came upon these 2. One is an HP Pavillion and the other is an Acer Aspire. I am aware that they are not "the best" computers in the world for Graphics and that a Macbook is better (blah blah blah), but I don't want to spend 1000+ on a computer for school. I just want something that can handle schoolwork and Graphic Design stuff for at least my time in College. So which one (Acer or HP) is better for Graphics? Or do you know any other affordable Laptops? thanks

Heres the HP:

Acer:

BTW I already checked my schools recommend guidelines for computers and they both fall under it fine.

They will both do fine.

In graphics you normally use mia for 3d design, or if you meant like photoshop stuff... then ya its photoshop..

Every hipster and their mother will be using a mac, when in reality your computer will be computing equally if not better.

Straight didn't look at the laptops from my view of his answer, because they have the same ram and processor..

And guy1 is trying to get you to get a Dell. Do not get a dell, they used to be priced fairly, but the XPS is just a label, you pay for the name.

tl;dr

: Choose which one you want because they will both do fine.

For starters you are able to need a quad middle proccessor quite than a twin middle, some thing like a center i7 or a q9550 this is because of the fact maximum pictures layout classes have help for 4 proccessors. you may additionally want a honest quantity of ram, 3 or 6gb for the i7 or 4gb for the q9550. i'm no longer too advantageous approximately what pictures enjoying cards are solid for pictures layout yet once you circulate right into a working laptop or pc shop that builds custom desktops (no longer a celebrity retail shop that purely sells already compiled desktops considering which you elect it custom geared up for you.) Ask on the pc shop and that they permit you be responsive to what pictures card could be solid for you. in all probability additionally get a troublesomechronic this is a minimum of 500gb. i does no longer pay a lot greater beneficial than $2000 for this setup in any different case that's purely too high priced. i could enormously advise for a real of the industry layout pictures pc: middle i7 920 processor asus p6t motherboard 6 Gigabytes of RAM a million Terabyte troublesomechronic pictures card cautioned by potential of the shop which you purchase from visual demonstrate unit, keyboard and mouse of your decision and dvdchronic.

I would go for the HP out of the two, but if you are into graphics, you should be looking at 6GB or more because packages such as Adobe CS2 onward really needs a lot of memory to run smoothly, and if you are into 3D rendering graphics, the extra memory really do kick in.

On the other hand, if you just starting, then you can just buy the HP and then add memory later,

Macs used to be better, but now there is little difference in ability to do graphics and other heavy programs. Ditto with the actual brand. Not much difference in the warranties any more.

Instead look at the SPECS.

You want to focus on the RAM, ROM, processor speed, and preferably have dual or quad processor which most laptops will not do the trick.

CNET.com has good product reviews.

You'd want the best with a computer. HP doesn't have enough features. Get an Acer because it had all features. There are softwares you could download for your Graphic Design needs.

From what I can tell they seem about equal. However do try to make yourself familiar with the mac operating system because I does seem to be the standard choice for anything involving graphics.
