I have been building a new website using dreamweaver 8 (student / teacher edition). I connected to my server without a problem, putting in all the correct ftp stuff etc. I've checked the connection, and it's all good - it confirms that there is a good connection. When i then upload my files, they all a show on my remote site as they should, but when i try to view them through the internet, i get an http 403 forbidden message. I've been at this for days now and am starting to get worried. Is it something i'm doing, or is my website host messing this up. Have i missed something very simple at the outset? I've even upload a simple dreamweaver template, but even that doesn't show when looking for it through the net. Any help would Truly be appreciated.

I hope you did what Dreamweaver requires and made a Projects folder so all files will be present and in the correct relationship with each other.

Once you log into the server, you have to browse to the public_html folder. Otherwise, you are in the wrong directory. So much easier if you use Filezilla.

is your website somehow in your hosts file? how are you connecting to the ftp? Can't you just dump the website contents directly onto your ftp? does your website host service provider thingy need you to use any special software (their own software)? Hope these questions helped. If nothing works, change your provider. test it on a free website provider, they do FTP i think.
