Some suggested I use wordpress to create a website for my auto parts business.
I have two questions.
1. Why does wordpress seem to focus on blogging? I’m not interested in blogging.
2. Once I created my website with wordpress how do I put it on the internet?

I recommend one of these http://www.webhostingtable.com

Fatcow has the best offer right now.

Their standard price is $88/year

but they have the 50% sale right now.

Disk space: Unlimited

Bandwidth: Unlimited

A Free domain name

Unlimited domains and subdomains

Price: $44/year

They're one of the oldest hosting companies, founded 1998, they're also one of the largest, currently hosting about 500,000 websites.

Their hosting plan includes a web builder, so you can create your site just by drag and drop (without any programming), or you could install Wordpress (easy, one click install from their control panel), choose a theme that you like, and start adding content.

Great question ... I am an internet marketer and help people create successful online businesses. Your question is right where most people start to struggle bringing the vision of their business to meet the online opportunities.

Wordpress is definitely a blogging tool ... however it is VERY customizable and can be made to look like any other website. This means you get all the benefits of a blog without the limitations of a website.

One of the benefits is that wordpress automatically "pings" the search engines to let them know your site is up. Once you have created your website with wordpress simply add more content and the search engines will definitely find your site ... in time.

I have created a video series to help people new to wordpress create their blog and make it look like a site at www.EssentialWordpressSkills.com which your more than welcome to check out.

If your looking for other FREE website options you can check out:

#1 - www.oscommerce.com - This is an open source (free) website tool that focuses on an eStore (ie many products). HostMonster can install this option in a few clicks which makes is super easy to install.

#2 - Joomla or Drupal - This is again an open source (FREE) content managment system. They are a little tricky to use but once you get the hang of these they are AMAZING!

#3 - eLance or RentaCoder - The last option would be to simply pay for a site to be created. This can generally run anywhere from $50 to $1500 depending on what your looking for and how much "customization" you need.

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website/weblog. If you are going to create your blog website: 1- Buy a domain name. A domain name is a name you want to call your website (ex: www.yahoo.com). To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your blog online at your purchased domain name.

If you’re going to start your blog at your own domain with different pages, you need a web host providing wordpress.

Take a look at:

http://www.threehosts.com/blog

There you can reach the three reputable companies that are leaders in the blog/wordpress website hosting industry.

Another useful link:

http://www.threehosts.com/create

There you can find a step-by-step guide to start your website.

Hope this helps.

if you're not interested in blogging, and since that's an autoparts business, i'll wager that you need an online store.

that means an e-commerce enabled site. while there are several, one of the easiest to setup is joomla with the virtuemart e-commerce plugin.

if you get your domain and hosting with godaddy, you won't even have to worry about putting your site on the internet. they have joomla installs available for customers. all you will need to add is the virtuemart plugin and then have someone design your store online.

First of all, you must choose a suitable theme for your site, it must fit your purpose, e.g. galleries, videos, shop, medical, education, wedding...

Second, you can search & install some plugins, they will make your site professional.

Hire an expert to build your web site. It's going to fail if you have such basic questions.
