I think it's "D" but I have to be certain.

The answer is B.
Heres why:
Its not A. Impact printing may be used, but OCR (optical character reading) is a SCANNING technology, not a printing one. and MICR refers to the INK used (magnetic).
Its not C. Neither OCR nor MICR have anything to do with Microfilm.
Its not D. Bar Codes are machine scannable as well. OCR can work on any font (not specifically a Bar Code Font), MICR is just the Magnetic Ink.
B refers to the idea that Source Data doesn't have to be processed by people! Cheques with MICR are fed through a MICR reader, and automatically dispatched. OCR saves in retyping documents. Bar Codes are ALSO an example of B (usually, Point Of Sale scanning, rather than typing a price, or a product code in, or warehousing applications, or tracking).

B is the answer. OCR is optical character recognition in other words when you scan a document it will translate it to a document as close a possible instead of an image. MICR which is magnetic ink character recognition is used mostly by banks (and not that much any more) on the deposit slips (Banks have moved away from this because of the high theft factor involved.) It is also used on checks printed by banks.

Answer: B
Because both are automated means of reading data by a computer. MICR is for checks, OCR is the same thing, but for regular printed paper.

Optical character attractiveness (OCR), Optical Mark attractiveness (OMR) and Magnetic Ink character attractiveness (MICR) For scaning information and to have the skill to edit them later.

It is B.
You may be tempted to think D because that is what some types of OCR read. The options are worded awfully though, the answer is definitely B.

Hmm...looks to me to be either A or B, since OCR is definitely where you take a sheet of paper with text on it, scan it, and then the text is recognizable on the computer.

E) character recognition
OCR is optical character recognition and MICR is magnetic incoded character recognition
I do not agree with your multichoice
maybe I know who you are

Well let me tell you D os WRONG
OCR = Optical Character recognition
MICR = Magnetic Ink Character Regognition
Now try doing OWN HOMEWORK, it'll be in your course notes
