Question:
What would be a good very simple Web design program to build a website like mine but without all the errors?

I have built a website using MS Publisher and it looks the way i want it too more or less but when I check it with various website checkers it is full of coding errors. I understand that Publisher is not a good web builder by I have zero experience and it served to get me rolling. I had a look at Dreamweaver but its way over my head and does not appear to lend itself easily to sites like mine. I really like the paste it all on style of Publisher. Is there a paste it together type program that would give me less errors than Publisher but still be really simple to use. I really want to avoid getting someone else to build the site as I need to be able to edit and change it myself.

my site is www.petepower.co.uk

Coding errors are near impossible to avoid, I wouldn't really worry that much about them. The important thing is if your website looks the way you want it to. If you're looking for an easy free HTML editing program, Kompozer is my pick...

If you need a manual on using Kompozer, you can check out http://www.webbingyourself.com/kompozer_manual_guide_tutorial_help.html

I do like the design though, the cartoon images are quite cute :)

Well if I had a boss that built a website and wanted me to take it over I know it would mean that I would be redesigning it as well as maintaining it. I would not be concerned with price of the software either as he will write it off as a business expense anyhow. After all the web is the cheapest form of advertising available. I would recommend you get a copy of Dreamweaver and stay as far away from frontpage as you can. Dreamweaver will write code that is far closer to compliant with the international standards then frontpage. I wold also be sure to test the pages in multiple browsers as well as multiple versions of the same browser prior to releasing it to public view. You really don't need the latest version of Dreamweaver but you should get at least version 8 of the program. You will also want to learn (x)HTML, CSS, JavaScript and possibly MySQL, PHP or Flash. If the boss complains about the cost of Dreamweaver you can show him the Macromedia Studios or even the Adobe Studios as buying the studios while they are more expensive as a one time price you can save hundreds of dollars off the individual pricing. Another consideration would be that him purchasing the tools you will need to do a professional job for him is actually saving him the money it would cost to hire a professional web designer / developer to fulfill his web needs.

If you check a site built by ANY of these web builder programs they show hundreds of errors. They are totally non-compliant with current W3C rules. The only way to ensure an error free site is to write it manually using a text editor, then test it under every type of browser and correct layout errors by adjusting css settings.

I could suggest Adobe's Dreamweaver. It is an expensive program, but it does have lots of nice features. And to save yourself some money, piracy is also an option.

I believe that Microsoft also has a similar program that is not as good, but for a very beginner it is a nice learning step. I'm not sure what Microsoft charges, but I'm sure it's ridiculous, as with the majority of programs. Again, piracy is an option.

NOTE: I do not condone piracy.

Try as i might, i was unable to exploit the coding errors on your website. Honda generator repair is great but can you fix my }#]%{¥£€ Mercury outboard and save my rotator cuff? If so, I'll design your website for you.
