WordPad, Word, Publisher and even the infamous FrontPage should NEVER be used for web pages. They guarantee that your web pages will NOT be cross-browser compatible because of all the Microsoft Schema code it adds. Only IE and Maxthon understand this code. Additionally, FrontPage requires server extensions be installed to work correctly.

My site www.bestdamnwebsites.com can take care of you and your website. You already have a domain name, which is the first step.

At Best Damn Websites, you can get our only plan which is unlimited website hosting for $30.00 per year (yes, per year). We can work with you and get your domain working with the hosting account.

Each hosting account comes with quite a bit of site building software, easy to customize templates, or (if you already have a website ready to go), you can upload your files to your hosting account and can be all set. Even if you do already have a site design, I'm sure the included site builder tools can help you quite a bit.

We can walk you through step by step to get you going and we have video tutorials to help as well. Visit www.bestdamnwebsites.com for more information or contact me directly at brandon@bestdamnwebsites.com

Yes you must have some space somewhere to host your domain.

When you register the domain, you should be given information about NAMESERVERS. This should have been explained by the people who sold you the domain name. When you get your web space, you need to contact the people who administer the nameservers and tell them where your web pages are.

You don't need to host it with the same people that you used to register the domain, but it will work, and a lot of what I just explained should be done automatically for you.

You can use any text editor to produce web pages. Some editors are WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) others you will have to hard code the HTML tags in yourself.

By purchasing a domain name you basically brought "www.yourwebsite.com" or whatever. For that domain to be active on the internet you need to pay to have it hosted. It does not have to be with the same company, but it might be easier to see if they can host it for you if your not a technical PC user. Making a website can be difficult. If you know the language of HTML you can make a webpage in notepad. If not you might want to buy Adobe Dreamweaver or Microsoft Frontpage.

You may even have to consider paying some one to build the site for you as it is a form of computer programming and can be difficult

No big deal. As an earlier responder answered a domain is just a name. You can transfer that to any hosting company.I got some awesome rates and A1 support at www technologicstore dot com. They use a major US provider for all your support needs and you get a ton of free stuff with the different hosting programs.

Buy a domain name is first step... now you need to buy a web space for your website. For website, try to search on google, how to make your own web page with the help of Dreamweaver. you get a thousand's result, click the link which you think a better for you.

Or i suggest you to hire a company for designing a website. just type this keyword on Search Engines web design company and choose the best affordable company.

i send you the list of company names, please check the links below.

A domain name is just a name. Hosting means do you want space to put stuff (a site)

Some people use 2 sources to accomplish this (Go Daddy for the name / Host Gator for the site)

1st you need to get the site space and then register the name you purchased with the site so when people click on it or enter it in their browser it takes them to your site.

Most sites have building tools included in the cost / with tutorials to help.

Check out the site building tools before you buy.

You will need hosting and hypothetically you can save your word pages as web pages and upload them nut it would be a pain in the ***.

In addition to googling "How to create a website" I have created a step by step how to, on how to create an asp.net website.

set up a free account at 000webhost.com or some equivalent and learn how to do a web site before wasting any more money.

Word would be a very poor choice for making web pages. go to http://google.com/ and type in "how to start a web site" (no quotes) and find a tutorial you like. there are many.

hi, getting domain is first step, but if you want to upload content and put them on your site, you need hosting. So yes, hosting is needed to upload files onto your website.

since you only have domain name, i think you should sign up for fatcow and transfer your domain to fatcow. it's very cheap and very good hosting company. their customer service is A+. i personally use it for my blog sites.

they have website builder where you can design and build your own site without html experience. you just click, design, and push live. very simple.

"Specialization" will come at a high premium - why not just host with a common, large user-base provider and go from there? (The "specialized" providers you may find will be likely to be small, and therefore less likely to last in the long run - they'll try to stay in business by charging you outrageous prices, too)

it's just a little more complicated, but you get to keep your domain :-)

you can pick any hosting provider you wish. make sure you get the feature set you need.

e.g. do you need a CMS (site builder), PHP, SQL database, cron jobs (good for events calendars), ecommerce (shopping carts - you get what you pay for), anonymous ftp access, free subdomains?
