I'm not sure what is generating this error, this seems to be valid XML:

Error:

Required white space was missing. Error processing resource 'file:///Z:/Documents/Exercises/Coding/XML/creatingDTD_external...

XML:

You need to add a value type to your attribute.

Either put in a default value, or specified whether it is #FIXED "default" (where default is your value), #REQUIRED, or #IMPLIED.

Place this before the greater than enclosing symbol/tag:

What kind of security software do you have? Did you try turning it off? When the installer asks whether to run BearShare, make sure that checkbox is cleared. You might have lost some registry info or the DLL. Once in awhile you come across a badly programmed security application like McAfee antivirus or the Microsoft antispyware stuff. If the file is missing from "C:\Program Files\BearShare" then reinstall it to the same folder again and all your settings will still be in place.
