I got an intern project, can someone tell me what I am suppose to do for the summer ?

So I got some info on what I will be doing in the summer. Can you give me an idea in layman terms of what I will be doing ?

The intern will design, develop and implement the automation of the Trust Services commission process for KeyBank and National Philanthropy Trust. Convert manual Microsoft Excel spreadsheet process to a distributive process (frontend using .Net and JavaScript backend MSSQL or DB2).

In layman's terms, it sounds like they want you to design and build a system that replaces their current use of an Excel spreadsheet for data entry purposes.



So basically, you will be creating a website that has a database (either MSSQL or DB2), and the website should be designed using the .Net architecture ... and JavaScript if necessary.



My guess is at a minimum you will have to provide a way to create/update entries in the database using the website of your own design. They may or may not want the capability to delete entries from the database. They also may or may not want you to have the application send out email either at a certain time of the day, or once new records are inserted or old ones are deleted.

Well, its all still depend on you whether you know how to do them already or not.



If not, then make a plan from now such as learning, practicing and experimenting by yourself of those activities.



If yes, then learn deeper for further issues regarding those activities such as analyzing bugs or perform gap analysis, etc.



In my opinion, those need advance to expert skill and takes effort and time. First, glad to hear you got tasks to do. Second, you will have some challenges during summer.
