My PC does not have a provision for automatic updates in the java control panel.How to get this option?

You will find the java program in your control panel.
Double click to open then click on the Update tab.
Make sure that the Check for updates checkbox is checked.
Click on advanced to see when it will check for updates.
Set it to Monthly so that you are not disturbed every day.
Have fun.

I used to get them to. Updates popping up all the time !! GRRR
If you see your tray in the bottom right corner of your screen, find the Java Icon > Right Click and press Cancel! This will cancel the updates for you! Hope this helpsxx

I think your "Automatic Updates" feature is turned off.To activate it follow steps--
Go to control panel.
Click "Security Center".
Turn on Automatic Updates.
Choose day and time to check update.
