I need some advise on what tools to use to create a website. I have used WYSIWYG is the past, but that was many years ago and it seems that making webpages is a little more mature now. Does anyone know of any good tools or resources to use? Like possibly wordpress? i don't need to worry about getting a domain or hosting it, just something to build my content in, and hopefully very user friendly.

Dreamweaver is the industry standard for WYSIWYG web editors, but it is very expensive (~$300). Wordpress is also a good alternative as it removes the need for knowing much code. Both tools also have a lot of online support/tutorials, so you can usually find what you need pretty quickly. I personally consider WYSIWYG editors evil, and I only use text editors for my web design, but if you are not familiar with the code involved, they are the way to go.

Using a web host supporting wordpress is the best choice.
