I have a wordpress site which gets 2500-3500 unique vistors/day (around 8000 pageviews). I also have a forum setup. I expect this traffict to improve even more in the near future. I am currently using a shared hosting plan and my host had already suspended my site twice for putting heavy load on their resources. They are also demanding me to move to VPS.

I am using WP-Super cache plugin but still no use.....

My question is should I move to VPS or try another highend shared host like BLUEHOST. Is VPS worth for me?

Each page on my site is around 150-200 kb and as we all know wordpress uses php. php puts heavy load on CPU.

What should I do move to VPS or another shared hosting....

Ah, lovely Bluehost! I guess you fell foul of their 'three strikes' rule. I have a Drupal site that was booted off BH for 'performance issues'. VPS is definitely the way to go, if you can afford it. If you are happy setting up your own server, you can save on costs by going for an unmanaged VPS solution. Going the VPS route may be more costly, but you'll be freeing yourself of all the problems associated with shared hosts who oversell their servers.

Hello Sreekanth... Shared hosting is good enough unless you are looking to have greater than 20GB of data accessed constantly on the web VPS will only cost a lot.

I would look for a good player in india like Increnox, they have a fanstastic model and work both on Windows and Linux have a free wordpress integration support and are pretty much cost effective. They have 2 colocated servers running one in US & One in India... at that price you cannot asked for more. With 3000+ Hits i think this is the only host in india that can support it.
