Question:
CSS Style sheet links to notepad at school but not at home ...?

Ok so I've linked my Notepad file to my CSS file and it works perfectly fine at school, but once I bring those files home and try to style my notepad file it doesn't work. Yes the two files are still linked, (all I did was copy and paste them onto my flash drive and all other files that were needed, ie images, fonts etc.) But when I try to open my notepad file it doesn't show any formatting, just plain. I do have Vista at home and XP at school, but even if I make and link the files at home using Vista it still doesn't work. Any help? o_O

All files need to maintain the same relationship everywhere. What ever the directory structure you were using at school, those files must have the same directory on the flash drive or even your hard drive.

If they link to a URL and do not use relative paths, then you need to make changes so they all link as they should locally.

Notepad won't format files - you must be using something else in school. (Notepad is a program - "notepad file" is meaningless, Notepad can open any text file, there's no special file type for Notepad.)

Are you opening the two files with the same program?

Are hidden file extensions on?

If you copy and paste for example out of microsoft word it will include all of microsoft's hidden / propietary code
