How do I make a cartoon animation?

Question

I feel pretty skilled as an artist and wanted to get into animation! I own a MacBook and have two sketch programs, AutoDesk and ArtRage. For a quick example, I would like to make animations like "Children of the Night" http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jW5n3k2VgZE&feature=related found at that link. I think it's beautiful and was thinking about doing some! So... Can I get a little help? Thank you!!

There is a anime cartoon program that you can make anime and stuff but its not like for pros it like for anyone that wants to make it and its called scratch animation
