I am looking to design a Flash Website or a website to have Flash features and prefer to use WYSIWYG programs. I have designed regular HTML sites and very handy graphically speaking when it comes to standard "static" design but don't have the time to learn Flash nor the funds to drop $1,000 on Dreamweaver and Adobe Flash Design.

I found a program called A4 Desk Pro and it is fairly straight forward and easy but it doesn't let you fully customize the templates it provides. All it allows you to do is select different colors and plug in your text. I am looking for a little more than that. Any help is appreciated.

30 day trial is your pal. Flash is comparatively WYSIWYG once you first initiate. you in basic terms upload a keyframe, make an emblem, circulate down the timeline slightly, upload yet another keyframe, then do something to the emblem and tell flash to animate between the keys (tweening). something from fades to shape ameliorations are rather basic and now there are a number of action presets obtainable in CS4 (ease in, spring, etc.). have not got self assurance the different guy approximately code being much less stressful till you have a heritage in it plus Macromedia became into bought out via Flash. As for the drop downs and such you could cause them to in Flash besides yet are a sprint extra sturdy; additionally look at sprys in Dreamweaver. yet another determination is to purchase a internet site template and easily substitute out the content to satisfy your needs (you will nevertheless choose the suitable utility even though it fairly is much less stressful to do it in 30 days).

Adobe Flash is the only way to design and publish a proper flash site.

Swish might give you bit more functionality compared to A4 Desk but thats still very limited

1. Never ever ever build a site in Flash. It is completely inaccessable for screen readers, difficult to index, and way to much work to update. It is ok to use a flash intro if there is a skip option, and adding flash elements like viewers and games are ok. But never build an entire site in it. Doing so can actually get you sued. Hit the link to see an example of such a suit.

2. No, there are no WYSIWYG editors for Flash, but the flash GAIA platform makes developing navigation in flash easy. You need Flash to use it.

Adobe Flash CS4 I believe is the latest, but your gonna pay out the ***. your also want to learn ActionScript 3.0 or 2.0 to build some more then a slide show or shaky animations. ***cough****torrents****cough****personal\educational use your be fine****torrents***commercial use their nail you to the wall****

Also Adobe releases education editions and Adobe owns the rights to flash, so your best bet is to go with them. Of course you can learn hardcore actionscript and write the whole thing by hand, but obviously you want a WYSIWYG so your best bet would be Adobe Flash CS3/CS4 I personally like CS3 it just seems to run slowly with each new version, Flash Pro 9 was nice too but its no longer supported.
