There are various programs out there that are WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) based, so it'll write the HTML code as you go. (Such as DreamWeaver, MS Frontpage/Publisher.) But they're fairly advanced, so you have to know exactly what you want. Also, you can't be afraid to visit the Help section when you get stuck on something. Other than that, I suppose you could learn HTML code. Visit the first link to do this.

When you get ready to host it, I recommend Yahoo! Small Business services.

1. There's no contract.

2. When you let them host your site, they'll register your domain name for free. (www.businessnamehere.com)

3. They provide website building tools that make it super easy to get your site up and running in no time flat. Visit the second link for more information about it.

Hope I've helped.

It really depends on what you want to do, how much you want to learn, and how much time you want to invest. There are a number of on-line sites that give you visual tools for building a site and then host your site.

Alternately, your internet service provider may provide you with an HTML directory so you can create your own site. In this case you can use a WYSIWIG (what you see is what you get) editor like Dreamweaver or CoffeeCup or you can learn how to write HTML code and type in the raw code in Windows NotePad or EditPad (a free download that's great for coding).

If you create the web pages on your own computer you will need an FTP program so you can transfer the files to your host.

HTML is very easy to learn. It is essentially just a bunch of tags that tell the browser how to format the content. You can learn a lot by right clicking on most sites and selecting "View Source" or "View Page Source".

If you really want to learn more, I recommend picking up a book like HTML for Dummies or HTML Visual Quick Start Guide. These are very good books that make the subject very easy to learn.

One note: even if you decide to use "what you see is what you get" programs to build your web pages, it's still a good idea to learn some basic HTML so you can understand what's happening in the background.

If you are currently a paid Internet subscriber, you are entitled to a "homepage" which often contains simple navigation and editing tools. And if you use the Netscape browser, the built-in Composer feature is a superior HTML authoring tool. You can easily generate a full-blown website as a Homepage. Nevertheless, the "homepage" URL is likely to be "http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber... name" and that URL can easily be overwritten via a redirection service, i.e., "mydomain.com" which allows you to link any registered domain name to "mask" another website. For example, should you type in "domainname.com", you will be immediately transported to the homepage and the hompage URL of http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber... name will be masked by the domainname.com. And the charge for the redirection service [even at godaddy.com] is normally FREE. Here's a demonstration: Type in the URL window: "www.pizzanextdoor.com" which will bring up their pizza website. Take note of the domain name. Then type in the URL window: "http://home.pacbell.net/vten/1a/pizzamen... and you will see that this is the original homepage which is unmasked without the domain name!

Good luck!

You can go to Angelfire.com or go to Godaddy .com.

At godaddy you can get a web template etc. but if you are serious about a website you need to get a professional designer that not only knows the wd design codes etc. but can host the website as well as maintain it.

People have this misguided idea that they can paint a house and mess it up then they have to call the professionals in to fix what they did wrong so is in the web world hire a professional like WebmasterSanta. Go to www.GoldenChinaOnline.com I hope this helps,
