When I use Autodesk Inventor it works fine loads fast then when I start to use it (I use MM) General Dimension doesn't work you can drag the line then type you measurement in the box but you cant apply the change. Also the Extrude command doesn't work right either when you click on it the box comes up but theres is boxes everywhere (See pictures below)

I think your installation of Autodesk Inventor is corrupted. If you have not tried reinstalling then try it.

I use Inventor quite a bit as well and have used every version between 5.5 and 2008 and I haven't seen anything like this.

Autodesk probably isn't receiving support for software that is 3 generations old and they have never been of much help anyways.

The version of inventor you are using is very old. And might be having compatibility issues with your newer computer. Also there might just be alot of bugs in that older version but a re installation along with some service packs might help

Jim, i disagree with you. I do know intel has more of the market share, but amd also has a hex-core or 6 core, which is nesseray for CADs. I would also use amd because its fastest 6 core is 250 with 3.3 ghz per core but i think intels fastest 6 core is like 1100+ and a 3.4 ghz. I think that the price difference, amd is the better one. BUt if you truly have the budget and want intel go ahead more power to you. Ill just stay here satisfied with my custom pc with a amd 6 core
