Microsoft Access is a database program. With Microsoft Access, you can make charts, tables, etc. It does a lot more than Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word can do. You can get training on Microsoft Access from the Microsoft Office website.

I've used MS Access for over 10 years, and I mostly learned on the job. I was fortunate that I had programmers around who I could bug when I didn't understand something.

The best way to master it is to use it everyday for 10-15 minutes, starting with very familiar data like friends/family names, addresses, birth dates, phone numbers, emails, and make up some fields like Donations (to experiment with currency amounts) and Alive/Dead (to experiment with Yes/No values). That way, when you run queries and design forms, you don't get lost in all the data. Use their help menu. You might even find some free tutorials on YouTube or MS Access blogs.

It's a great software package, and mastering it has helped me tremendously in almost every job I've had for the past 10 years. Using it right now, actually!

Good luck.
