How can I create my own local search engine that run only on my local area network?
What programming language should I use [ I know vb6,c++,xhtml,javascript…]

Or how can I customize google or any search engine for my local server.

Yeah, you can invent your own search engine but it takes a lot of time and also you need a perfect team for it. So, continue your efforts sure you will get success but already we have so many reputed search engines. Don't bother try it...
