I recently had my computer checked by the supplier for soft ware problems. Ever since this message appears sometimes apparently at random. Quote " FATAL ERROR X Object reference not set to an instance of an object. OK " Can any one tell me in plain English what this means. The title Fatal Error is very concerning to this dummy. If you can help please try and avoid computer jargon as far as possible .

Fatal error means a crash caused by the program being unable to handle the problem. This generally totally stops the program from running.

It means one of two things:

Your program is corrupted.

OR

Your processor is dying.
