A List is just that. It provides for a vertical list of text items. When the items get larger than the defined size, scroll bars appear.





A ComboBox is a list which displays the last selected item. When you click on it, the List drops down to allow you to select another item, hence the name drop-down list...

I think the other big different is in a List box you can select more then one item, where as in a combo box you can only select one.
