What is a "script" in computer language.?

My computer freezes often and i get a dialogue box saying the following :

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

What follows the word script varies.

My question : what is a script and how can i stop this frequent freezing up of my computer due to this? Thanks you as this is irritating and can happen at the most inconvenient times.

you look like open web site or HTML file which contains JavaScript script and the script have some bugs or malfunctions. Just don't open that site or HTML file. But if open oftenly, clear browser cache and scan your computer with anti malware and/or anti virus
