Ok..
Mother's day is in about less that 12 days and I want to do something really special for my mom.
I got her a gift (something she really wanted for ages), But I want to do a special thing for her.
I want to do a slide show, that contains our pics together, and I need to put music while the slideshow is going on..
But how can i put one music for the whole slideshow?
plz details..
I tried insert, sound from file but it's only working for one page..
how can I do it without starting the song over on each page.

Which version of Powerpoint (XP< 2003<2007)

In 2003 it is



Hit the SLIDESHOW

Then look at the SLIDE TRANSITION

MODIFY Transition

SOUND

FROM OTHER FILE

Find it and select that easy

I would hit Loop until next sound.

Slide Transition sould be set # of slides divided by total seconds of song if possible so that at the end of the slide show the song ends. You might have to put in something like 5.43 seconds.

Play a sound continuously for one or more slides

To repeat a sound until you stop it, or to play it for the duration of a presentation, you need to specify the stop options or set the sound to play continuously. If the length of the sound file isn't long enough for continuous play during a presentation, you can set the sound to loop or play repeatedly. If you do not specify when a sound should stop, it will stop the next time that you click your mouse.



Add a sound, if you have not already done so:

In Normal view, click the slide to which you want to add a sound.

On the Insert tab, in the Media Clips group, click the arrow under Sound, and then do one of the following:







Click Sound from File, locate the folder that contains the file, and then double-click the file that you want to add to the slide.

Click Sound from Clip Organizer, locate the clip that you want in the Clip Art task pane (task pane: A window within an Office program that provides commonly used commands. Its location and small size allow you to use these commands while still working on your files.), and then click it to add it to the slide.



When a message is displayed, do one of the following:

To play the sound automatically when you go to the slide, click Automatically.

To play the sound only when you click the sound icon, click When Clicked.

To repeat the sound continuously until you stop it by clicking your mouse, click the sound, and then under Sound Tools, click the Options tab, and in the Sound Options group, select the Loop Until Stopped check box.





To adjust the settings for when the sound file stops, on the Animations tab, in the Animations group, click Custom Animation.





In the Custom Animation task pane (task pane: A window within an Office program that provides commonly used commands. Its location and small size allow you to use these commands while still working on your files.), click the arrow to the right of the selected sound in the Custom Animation list, and then click Effect Options.

On the Effect tab, under Stop playing, do one of the following:

To stop the sound file with one mouse-click on the slide, click On click.

To stop the sound file after this slide, click After current slide.

To play the sound file for several slides, click After, and then set the total number of slides on which the file should play.

Note For the last two options above, the sound should be as long as the specified display of the slides. You can see the length of the sound file on the Sound Settings tab, under Information.

To preview a sound, do one of the following:

In Normal view, double-click the sound icon.

Click the sound icon, and then under Sound Tools, click the Options tab. In the Play group, click Preview.



To make the sound icon invisible during a slide show, click the sound icon, and then under Sound Tools, click the Options tab. In the Sound Options group, select the Hide During Show check box. You can also drag the sound icon off the slide to make it invisible during a slide show. You should use this option only if you set the sound to play automatically, or if you created some other kind of control, such as an action button (action button: A ready-made button that you can insert into your presentation and define hyperlinks for.), to click to play the sound. Note that the sound icon is always visible in Normal view.

You can also add music to a presentation by playing a CD. Music that is played from a CD is not added to the slide. To create settings for the CD, on the Insert tab, in the Media Clips group, click the arrow under Sound, click Play CD Audio Track, and then select the options that you want to use.

power point is cool but i have done this for gifts before and if you have windows xp or vista use movie maker it has everything you need to put music in and pictures and videos with many diffret features

Dont do it in PowerPoint.
