Is web design part of the Web Technology career?

I mean, if i choose Web technology as my major/career, can i do web design?

Yes, but keep in mind that there are a lot of elements of Graphic Artistry involved in web "design". Nowadays most prefessional-level websites are developed by a team. One person or group designs the function of the site while another designs the form. You can go either way, but it's unusual for a single individual to do both jobs in most companies. (Not unheard of... just unusual.)

Not always. I was taught web design at a advertising art college that specialized in graphic design.



Design is design...whether it is online or not.



I always consider web technology to be programming and making design "functional".
