I know how to buy a domain name but then i m being told to register to a web hosting site or watever. I can make my site on Front page but how do i upload it and what is meant by web hosting?. Please guide me through this.

I have multiple websites in site builder I've not been able to publish to the web with my new site I cannot get customer service because now they had terrible customer service I really do not want to discontinue my website but it looks like I don't have a choice anyone experienced this and how did they resolve it

what you are looking at would be shared webhosting - because it is too expensive to own the whole server for your website. Once you get your webspace, you modify the necessary name server settings and then upload your web site to the folder specified by your web hosting provider.
I suggest you buy your webhosting package for where you bought your domain name. Then your might not need to finger the Name server settings.
