Free internet chess server (fics) java not working?

I downloaed java and it wont work, even when i go to internet options java doesnt show up please help!

Try using Firefox or Chrome. If you are trying to access FICS from public network (school, work) it most like won't work since they are blocking JAVA due to security reasons. If connecting from home computer simply download Babaschess (http://www.babaschess.net/) and use it to play online on FICS. It is much more convenient to use Babaschess Client to play on FICS since it has a lot of options such as build in chess engine for analyzes, chat, etc.

That's easy....... They're centaurs running programs like Houdini, Rybka, Firebird and Shredder it's the same story on other sites like the spanish server owl 21 they run engines on laptops and small netbook computers to avoid being detected by the server that's how they get away with cheating. Go to ICC it costs an arm and a leg but the players on there are more honest and have more dignity than the scumbags on the other sites.
