I need to draw a computer system and the other items are: Processor (Process), V.D.U. (Output), CD ROM (Input) and Printer (Output). Please also explain why.

Except for some very specialist mice (eg. those with force feedback or status displays on the mouse itself) a computer mouse is an input.



Its an input device because information (in this case about how the mouse moves, which buttons are pressed, if the scroll wheel is moving) is sent from the mouse to the computer. The data is flowing INto the computer - hence INput.
