im trying to open a movie file .mkv type and Divx keeps telling me i need a decoder to run the audio portion. this is the message im getting...

You may need an additional audio decoder to play the soundtrack of this file.

This file contains a track in the Dolby AC3 Audio (code "8192") format. You may need to install a DirectShow decoder for this audio format in order to hear the soundtrack of this file.

i run on a macbook pro. can someone please point me in a direction on where i can get this decoder please.
thanks!

If you install Perian, it should enable the audio to work in the DivX Player. By default, the DivX Player includes AAC and MP3 audio decoding, but for other formats, the player relies on components/filters installed separately.

You can get Perian for free here:

You can try the DVD Video Converter Suite for Mac, it can help Mac OS X users not only rip DVD to AVI, MP4, MPEG, MOV, but also finish conversions among all common video format like convert AVI to MP4, convert MPEG to AVI, etc. With the DVD Converter Suite for Mac, you can easily put your favorite DVD and video on iPhone, iPod, PSP, Zune, Apple TV, YouTube, etc.
