I actually own several of the books in your list. If you are a beginner programmer in Visual Basic 2008, I would recommend two:

(1) Sybex Mastering Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 - it is a very easy book to follow and gives great detail for each topic that is presented.

(2) Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 Step by Step - this book is great for beginners. It teaches the necessary basics for a basic understanding of Visual Basic 2008. It is just not as detailed as #1.

Please feel free to contact me for other great FREE resources for learning Visual Basic 2008 such as tutorials, videos, etc. My email is: chris.towe@yahoo.com

hmmm, did u get the IDE for Vb.Net first ?

I would start by going to http://www.microsoft.com/express/vb/default.aspx

and looking at the videos, lessons, cool stuff there ...

But out of the list of books ,

<> would be the best apparently ...

'Wrox Visual Basic 2008, Wrox Professional Refactoring in Visual Basic' are advanced I think and Sams Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 is general .' Sybex Mastering Microsoft Visual Basic 2008' is a bit big for now :)

Good luck, and u might be better starting with the link http://www.microsoft.com/express/vb/default.aspx

Yes I beleive so if you have an understanding of what programming is... Maybe not though if you dont. the book is more of a reference used to learn syntax and commands. I tamy not be a tutorial as you like. I would recommend one of the for dummies books for that ..it should have you doing a simple hello world in no time. GO VB!!!!!!
