My browser connects to my web page site at cuckooclockhospital.com . I can ping the site. Cute FTP connects and provides the ID. The site then asks for the password which FTP provides and that causes an error. The same password works for all other Yahoo applications. Cute FTP vendor tells me they have had and still have others with same problem. I am paying for a web site I am unable to update. Very frustrating. .

Hello,

You could use a different FTP software. The tutorial below should help you with using Filezilla FTP program. Link to download: http://filezilla-project.org/ and click on download Filezilla client. Filezilla Setup article: http://www.w3hub.org/doc/filezilla/ After you login to the FTP client filezilla using

1. Your IP address (X.X.X.X)

2. Your FTP login

3. Your FTP password

You should be able to see the pages on your site. You can then drag and drop files to your server to upload or download them.

Good Luck!

What was the error messages ?

Timed out?

Because you said you were able to connected, but couldn't login.

First, try Filezilla (free). It might be Cute FTP issue.

Second, try it many times. I've 1 hosting that having similar problem. It often gives timed out.

Third, contact the web hosting customer support, you should complaint if it's so annoying.

Try using FileZilla, its an free program that does drag n drop ftp actions. I use it all the times. If not, make sure you got the right info typed and no caps. If you still have problems, contact your web host provider or me, since you don't want to give away too much info via yahoo answers.

The FTP site is not setup to run like that. If it is your FTP site, make sure it is a browser based FTP setup...

If you're not manually inputing a login ID then it's probably trying to make an anonymous FTP connection. Manually input your user ID and password before connecting as instructed here: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/smallbusiness/webhosting/gftp/gftp-09.html

If all else fails you should still be able to add/update/delete files in the control panel that Yahoo offers.

I highly recommend 1&1 for all your hosting needs! They offer unlimited bandwidth and storage now for the developer package which is $10 a month.

Use another FTP program...like SmartFTP or WS_FTP. I believe both have free trials.
