I am a very computer savvy linux user and have recently switched to windows 7. I am a webmaster for many websites and need to be able to access them daily to post and edit the pages. As i was previously using ubuntu I would connect to the server using the server option under places, and just use the default text editor for html editing, this way I could also use the file system to quickly upload and download things from the sites. Now that I have switched to windows I am looking for a convenient HTML editor, that also allows me to connect and browse through my servers. This way uploads and quick edits can all be done in one program and it will help me a lot. Thanks for any help..I really need this problem solved.

You should give HTML-Kit serious consideration. The latest, HTML-Kit Tools, has a greater interface with online files. You can download and use HK Build 292 free. To obtain Tools, you will have to register your Build 292, $59 currently, and then you can download Tools. While Tools is or has been in the Beta stage, it will soon be released as HTML-Kit Tools Ver 1.0. The $59 will provide you with this future release at no additional charge. Find at http://www.htmlkit.com/

HK has fantastic support. There are forums for questions. You will get answers from both the author of the program and long time users and supporters. There is no other software with this kind of support.

HTML editor: TextPad - www.textpad.com; the editor is free and licenses can be purchased later and are priced here: http://www.textpad.com/order/pricing.html. The editor has native support for C, C++, Java, HTML, Binary and text.

For remotely browsing your servers and/or workstations, use LogMeIn - https://secure.logmein.com/US/solutions/personal/control/

the free tool is an excellent tool to remotely manage servers and workstations.

If you are going to be moving files across your servers, use FileZilla - http://filezilla-project.org/. This free tool blows away WinSCP. I have used all of these tools for years and they are real solid, user friendly, and excellent tools.

Best of luck.
